Levin Tori, Levi, Lapland

Levin Tori is the largest individual construction project ever in Lapland. Levin Tori opened in November 2008. It consists of the Snow White-apartment hotel Unna & Mannu along with eight restaurants, the Sokos hotel, shopping gallery and underground parking lot, forming an internationally high quality tourism and service centre. The New 25,000m² square Levin Tori is ready to welcome domestic and international guests. The largest travel investment in Lapland, with its varied services, will be the centre of the Levi travel area. The total investment in the area will amount to over 50 million Euros. The atmosphere at Levin Tori will be quite international.

The architect planning for Levin Tori was carried out by Archeus Oy, in Oulu with architect SAFA Pave Mikkonen as lead designer.

"Our plan was to create a mountain hotel complex communicating high-class aesthetics and able to compete with any international resort. In the design, we wanted to focus on being Finnish, and this is especially shown in the fine details and genuine materials”,

Mikkonen says.

“I am really happy that we were able to create the entire area, from zoning to interiors and neon signs. This allowed us to design an intact landscape where all parts complement each other. After the seven-year project I can now say that I am very happy with the results.”

The different-shaped buildings are connected by the use of wood and natural stone and the fresh northern colours. Facades are brought to life by different balconies and modern log themes. The long log corners in buildings are a modern reminder of the Finnish log building heritage. When viewed from the mountain, the building complex looks interesting due to the varied landscape created by the roofs.

Hullu Poro Oy opened six different restaurants at Levin Tori. The offering includes a fine dining restaurant, cocktail bar, nightclub, Asian buffet, café and after ski pub.

Kana & Kannu - Chicken & Can - is one of the 6 new Hullu Poro restaurants in Levi. This attractive restaurant is kept in the colours black and orange. Fresh salads and warm snacks, cold drinks and stomach-filling dishes. Funny comic strips on the wall emphasize the relaxed atmosphere. After ski, after work, after shopping, after all… Kana & Kannu - restaurant is a relaxed and laidback place to spend some free time. The kitchen’s vast menu includes many cold drinks and one can have a taste of grilled chicken on the plate in addition to sweet and salty crepes. On the pub’s big outdoor terrace one can enjoy the Levi’s sunniest atmosphere, refreshing moments of chatting and the smooth music. The terrace is open during summer. In winter you rather take the back door that leads you straight to the shopping mall or you head back to the slopes that are situated only 200 m away from Kana & Kannu.
